Black and white are the colors of photography. To me they symbolize the alternatives of hope and despair to which mankind is forever subjected. Most of my photographs are of people; they are seen simply, as through the eyes of the man in the street. There is one thing the photograph must contain, the humanity of the moment. This kind of photography is realism. But realism is not enough--there has to be vision, and the two together can make a good photograph. If I stay in a busy crowd, something is bound to happen, right? Well that really is a factor of what your looking for. Personally, I love wading through crowds, large crowds, actually the larger the better. People are always doing something interesting, If I'm at a street event, like the one in which I took this shot shown above, many a time its not for the event, it is for the people. It is of them that I end up getting the most interesting shots.
Over the years, this has become my sole mission.
I guess i liken myself to a foot soldier, kitted up for close range combat with a wide angle lens or any thing shorter than 100mm as my choice of weapon going into the battle moving fast and swift, every moment though carefully planned but with the fluidity of a dancer.
Today's shot.... which is actually my weekend shot(Back on Monday) is simply titled, "It's OK dad" Hope you like it (lol).
