I try to take my shots with speed, one swift moment of the hand without  pause, you have to have composed the shot even before lifting up your camera arm. You also have to be able to trust that the camera's optics won't let you down. You simply take the shot and move on. (Comments on street protography by Mista Skee. 2008)

Skee's still fiddling around with the G9, I haven't yet been able to process my RAW files in my favourite RAW editor C1Pro as Phase One are yet to make a profile for the camera.....guys wassup, you're slipping! :-(

It's was quite funny today, as most peeps around me with cameras had DSLRs with "Big" lenses and here was Skee, with his tiny P&S cam. lol, Why do peeps with bigger cameras think they can take better shots ;-) This I will never know or care to understand.

I agree. Somehow, having a better camera makes them a better photographer automatically. Anyways, Nice shot here. Great tonal variation and textures..there is so much to see here.
Lovely Shot !!!. We all have egos that we cater to !

Quality shot, mista skee - it takes some effort to capture scenes like this without being spotted and ruining it before you even get to the shutterbutton!
Like it.
Lovely shot Skee and good to come across you. I have the same attitude to taking shots. See the potential and have the camera pretty will primed for the moment ... and then look away straight after taking the shot. Lots more stratagies as well (not been threatened yet by the way!!!)cheers richard

You've just described my own street technique here, but my results (also with a Powershot G9) leave a bit to be desired.

With experience comes the ability to put into practice all the techniques you've learned much more quickly - as you say, in one swift movement - although I do advocate a very slight pause.

Looking forward to more from your G9.

Nice shot you've got here and I can certainly appreciate this would have been very busy shot in colour. Very relevant issue to me you raised here as I've just started doing some street shooting and I've wondered if it was impolite to photograph people without asking. Dunno... is it? Finally, dude, it's not the size of the tool, it's what you do with it that matters...
