"O in the the shade"

Available light is any damn light that is available!- W. Eugene Smith

For me, the world is my studio, I take my light where I can find it. Sure, studio portraiture can produce wonderful portraits under a controlled setting, but not having or rather not choosing to use one ( Studio that is ), shouldn’t make your work worth any less. Natural light and a 50mm can go along way. I personally like “Pulling my subjects out of shadows”, done rightly, it tends to add that sense of drama.

In today’s shot, the model was placed adjacent to a window no more no less, nothing fancy used just a 50mm f1.4

So beautiful! And I so agree with you about natural light. Gonna start shooting more portraits that way.
