photoblog image "Almost due"

"Almost due"

As a artist/photographer who does weddings, it is always a joy to be called back over the years by the same couple, to witness and record as the new family grows. Thus a timeless link is formed, "the photo-taker", becoming more or less the family photographer... do a good job, you will be in the "Good books" for years. :-)

"Almost Due", I did this beautiful lady's wedding last year, it was an honor to be called back :-)

By now on Shutterchance, most of you should be familiar with skee's technique, so I won't  explain here, check some of my pervious posts...or email me.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone, Skee will, and if you are feeling "Skee-dazzled", that's ok, it's a good feeling... share it with others too :-)

P.S I got home early friday morning...too tired to take part in the challenge...so sorry folks!

I think this is a beautiful set.

with the picture on the left, I love the expression on the subject's face and the play of light. What bothers me though,is the shadow on the left of her face. It's a bit heavy and takes away from the beauty of her smile and weighs down the picture a bit. I think you could have used the light better. The second picture illustrates this point better as the shadow is a bit more subtle and hence there is a better balance.

However, still prefer the first shot because it's so natural, touching and beautiful in a way that only a woman can be (which is propably why it isn't doig anything for Mr. Alakija). To me you've captured in the picture on the left, what some would say is the epitome of womanhood.

just goes to say that a lot of times beauty isn't about perfection. Which brings me to my next point which is not totally unrelated to the one i just made. i hit your blog almost everyday (at least when you have something new up) and a lot of times you have some impressive stuff at least on the technical side, but most of them seem to lack something. I thought about it for a while and realised, that apart from pictures of your family, they seem to lack... not sure what word to use, but that quality that evokes emotion and feeling - heart?

Don't get me wrong, i'm not saying that you should aim at making people weep or do a cartwheel everytime your picture is viewed or appraised but i'm just trying to say that even though i don't know you, you strike me as a perfectionist (which is brilliant) but i think sometimes in our bid for perfection we lose sight of some things that are more important, so that in the end, you have a picture that's technicaly flawless but doesn't do anything for a viewer who isn't an avid photographer looking for more tips on how to improve his photography and processing skills.

I've heard you comment once (or twice) that (and i'm paraphrasing here) that if the conditions necessary to take an impressive picture aren't there, you don't have to take a picture, but i think that photographers (when they're not taking pics of flowers, staircases or other types of still life) capture moments - a lot of times unplanned moments that may never happen again. Yes, the conditions may not be perfect - but the moment is - so take the picture. you'll be surprised that what the result will stir up in you or the person looking at it.

I hope i haven't offended you. i only noticed something different here that i don't see very often on your blog and thought to point it out since you're in a tolerant red ShMood mode.

Let me put it this way: if you look at the two pictures: one has clealy got the skee-dazzle and the other (one may argue) doesn't quite make it. But if you ask me which one will be in my mind's eye when i leave your blog it would be the one that's not so skee-dazzling, the 1st picture. and even though it's not perfect, IMHO, it's simply beautiful. ideally, one would have a bit of both worlds: a picture that's both perfect and beautiful (like the picture you took of Sinem holding her flowers at her wedding), but all this is just to say that a picture is no less poignant just because it not perfect as long as it captures that thing of the heart that can't be expressed in words, ISO settings, curves and the like.

But you probably knew all that already.

DOn't mind me. I can be a floosie sometimes. Besides all i said is before is merely my opinion. I hope you have a nice day. Take care.

Very nice! I'm totally feeling the black & white here! And I love what you've done with the "vegetation" in the background of the second photo grin

Well this is definitely my cup. I am loving the shot, expecially the shot on the left. I have to admit since watching Skee work I have been trying to learn his style with his use of an extra falsh to create shadows and dynamic lighting. I have to say it ain't easy smile

Is that what you used on the image on the right. It's stonking.

Both shots are absolutely divine and very inspired to make this a monochrome shot.

i really am liking these images a lot, well done bro.
