"Boots"

A good photograph will make an uncommonly good image of common subjects. –Anonymous

O how my soul rejoices when I see a wonderful combination of light and shade.
My heartbeat races, I feel the blood rushing through my veins.
My eyes completely engrossed with the image of beauty set before me.
I fall…helplessly in love.

There are those photographs that simply speak out by themselves, I can still count the ones I've taken, which sadly means… I haven't taken a lot!

But every now and then, for every photographer, in fact, for everyone behind a camera, that "Kodak moment "comes.

My shot today, for me, is one of those.

Original shot in colour (maybe you have seen it on my former blog) check it here. I've done a sepia tint this time around and applied "Selective Sharpening", a benefit of shooting in RAW format.

In my short time as an "Artist with a camera", ( I don't ever want to be called a photographer) I have tried still life, landscape and people photography. So far I enjoy people based photos the best, for now at least. There is so much in this life to photograph that my orientation may change, and then again…maybe it wont!

Once photography enters your bloodstream, it's like a disease. -Anonymous

Enjoy you weekend… Skee's back on Monday!

love this photo. nice DOF, good lighting and just the right tone. This could easily be stock photography (in the complentary sense, i.e. its technically high quality and is interesting enough to catch the eye)

Great shot. Awesome shot well done.
Nice then, nice now. smile
Nice shot, the color/tone is lovely.
Nice image, Skee. I'm on the fence as to which version I like better. I think I'm going with the color version. Both are quite nostalgic and I can certainly see why you have so much affection for this photograph. Cheers!

I really like this. The sepia tones give the boots a warm, worn feel. What ISO was this taken with?

I have just started shooting in RAW within the past few days and it's very interesting to read your comments because it gives me a little more insight as to what I can do with that conversion. So you us the Canon conversion software that came with the camera right?? Oh so many questions for you I'll tell ya Mr. Skee!! Anyway, this IS a great shot.
