"When one considers the street as a blank canvas, and everything on it as potential visual aids, sooner or later a masterpiece is formed" Taken from "Random thoughts on street photography by mista skee 2009" Look harder, look deeper and much longer, something always turns up! About todays Shot Using the 5D mark II with the 50mmf1.2L, no cropping done, just a simple black and white conversion using C1pro4. (Lovely program but painfully slow)

Let's get deep: Black and white are the colors of photography. To me they symbolize the alternatives of hope and despair to which mankind is forever subjected. Most of my photographs are of people; they are seen simply, as through the eyes of the man in the street. There is one thing the photograph must contain, the humanity of the moment. This kind of photography is realism. But realism is not enough--there has to be vision, and the two together can make a good photograph. It is difficult to describe this thin line where matter ends and mind begins. - Robert Frank If I stay in a busy crowd, something is bound to happen, right? Well that really is a factor of what your looking for. Personally, I love wading through crowds, large crowds, actually the larger the better. People are always doing something interesting, If I'm at a street event, like the one in which I took this shot shown above, many a time its not for the event, it is for the people. It is of them that I end up getting the most interesting shots. Over the years, this has become my sole mission. I guess i liken myself to a foot soldier, kitted up for close range combat with a wide angle lens or any thing shorter than 100mm as my choice of weapon going into the battle moving fast and swift, every moment though carefully planned but with the fluidity of a dancer. Today's shot.... which is actually my weekend shot(Back on Monday) is simply titled, "It's OK dad" Hope you like it (lol). Skee's back on Monday, but you can start queuing from Sunday.... Peace!

Catching Time: " The moment it happens, it is gone!" (Mista skee: "Random thoughts on street photography" 2009) Don't get me wrong, I love all creative forms of photography. But there's something about capturing that everyday moment, Joe public, the girl next door, Bob the builder down the road, everyday life, that is a breath of fresh air from the beauty dishes and studio lights and the made up models with all the accessories that gives me goose pimples. Maybe that's why street photography I find of interest. 5D mark II: First impressions: I really like, its seems lighter that the original 5D, I couldn't be bother reading the manual, I simple put everything on manual settings and away I went. Everything so far it seems to do better than the old model. The first annoyance though was discovering that the battery is completely different from the old version. I guess that's more batteries to buy….thanks canon! Today's shot: "I come with a kiss" Shot in a busy crowd in Chinatown, quick response timing , being alert and aware of everything moving are key in capturing this type of image. It's one of the reason's that when I'm out to do serious stuff I work solo (Not that it's a must) I just find out I can concentrate better on what's going on around me.

Keep at it… it might one day work! My Photography: I like to think that through what I do, and sometime achieve, is a representation of what can be done with the understanding of what I consider the most important resource to any type of photographer-Light. -M.Skee Opps, not a human insight today, although this snap was taken of the bride’s dress, she had it on by the way. It’s a tight crop, mainly to emphasis detail. Thanks for all the comments, Skee’s back tomorrow!
